We received an emergency call from a local Non profit company that had a server crash and couldn't get meals deliver to it's patients. We dispatched a Network Engineer to diagnose their problem and get them back up and running. After troubleshooting and diagnosis our Engineer found a faulty motherboard, after ruling out the cpu, memory and controller. They needed their server online within hours and couldn't wait for the motherboard to arrive from HP. So we created a virtual clone of their existing server using VMWare and had their server running virtually from one of their existing workstations. After a few tweaks, they had their server back online. We came back the next day and installed the new motherboard and after updating the data files they had full functionality back.
